The Tucson Foundations, 11 private foundations

A collective operating model established for the eleven (11) private foundations, guided by a legacy of donor intent and sharing a vision, mission, values, and philanthropic philosophies, unifies our boards’ decision-making and leadership under the Tucson Foundations brand.

Vision

Tucson Foundations envisions a community where all individuals can reach their fullest potential to live enriched lives.

Mission

Support grantees operating in the Greater Tucson area, meet community needs, align with donor intent, maximize the effectiveness of human and financial resources to close service gaps, and remove barriers to more permanent equitable population results for an enriched community.

The Operating Model

With 11 private foundations, donors expressed various philanthropic interests, although some didn’t. The operating model is designed to prioritize named interests, “layer” common interests, “overlay” demographic and geographic interests, create nonprofit strength through endowments, and leverage timing-specific and grant-type incentive opportunities.
